Project: Stay-At-Home Yoko.

Week of May 2-6, 2005.

I will stay inside my house (420 E 136th St, Bronx), for nearly the full duration of the five days, until the evening of May 6th, when I will leave, terminating the project to go perform at Dan Fishback's CD release party with my band.

This project is about lack of rituals, discipline, blah, blah, blah. The idea was conceived on the afternoon of April 21st, when I signed a contract at the Rose Art Museum in Waltham, MA, stating that I would sleep in a box with my friend Meaghan Schwelm for one hour (see Marina Abramovic, Dream Bed). The idea was that I was to write down my dream at the end of the hour, should I have had one. This is a practice I am quite familiar with (see Abstract Extract #1). I did not sleep in the box that afternoon, but I thought of this project.
